Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

September 9^th - 18^th 

This explosive new production of TENNESSEE WILLIAMS' Pulitzer Prize-winning classic evokes the heat, passion and desire like only Williams and Havana can.. This new staging set on a sugar cane plantation is directed by Adam Adolfo.

Palabra: The Written Word, Spoken

December 3^rd & 4^th

This Night Poetry features the written word of Hispanic Poets. Join us for this event featuring actors, dancers, and musicians as they interpret the written word of poets from Spain, Latin America, and the U.S. Directed by Poetess and Performance Artist Tammy Gomez.

Featuring Los Monologos de la Vagina / The Vagina Monologues

March 11^th & 12^th @ 7:30 PM

ADLR joins with VDAY Fort Worth for this Global movement to stop violence against women. Featuring performances of playwright Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues. See this Bilingual presentation onstage for the first time in DFW directed by Yvonne Duque.

Kiss of the Spiderwoman: The Musical

March 31^st Through Saturday April 9^th

From the creators of CHICAGO & CABARET comes this ground breaking musical’s powerful portrayal of 2 men forced to share a cell in a Latin American prison. Adapted from Manuel Puig’s novel this is a heartbreaking night of theatre. Directed by Adam Adolfo.

Stipends for technical positions vary based on commitment and experience. This is an excellent opportunity for college students looking for professional credits. Although the technical crews are asked to do a tremendous amount of work, Artes de la Rosa attempts to create an environment that is both nurturing and fun while creating a spirit of trust, collaboration, and mutual respect.

Stage Manager
Responsibilities:
To serve as one of the stage managers for one of the four shows for the season. Will serve as a liaison between the director and department heads; responsible for the running and organization of daily rehearsals; responsible for scheduling and posting rehearsal and production calls and any other stage management duties that are deemed necessary and appropriate while working within the parameters of the  production schedule; responsible for calling, from the booth, the show; works with the technical director and department heads to determine needs for running crews for show; and attend all schedule rehearsals, paper techs, dry techs, and technical rehearsals.

Assistant Stage Manager / Stage Management Intern
Responsibilities:
To serve Assistant Stage Managers for either Cat on a Hot Tin Roof or Kiss of the Spiderwoman. Will assist the Stage Manager in the running and organization of daily rehearsals; will assist in the scheduling and posting rehearsal and production calls and any other stage management duties that are deemed necessary and appropriate; responsible for backstage organization during the productions; and will attend all schedule rehearsals, paper techs, dry techs, and technical rehearsals.

Music Director

Responsibilities:
Artes de la Rosa seeks a musical director/orchestrator for its upcoming production of Kiss of the Spiderwoman. Candidates should demonstrate strong leadership skills, be skilled in the teaching of music, have excellent communication skills, be dependable, have a positive attitude and be able to be a team player. We are seeking artists who possess imagination, flexibility and the desire to work with children and adults of varied ages in a creatively charged and artistically demanding, yet nurturing environment.  Experience in Musical Theatre a must.  Experience re-orchestrating large Broadway styled scores desirable.  Experience with Latin styles of music a plus.

Choreographer
Responsibilities:
Artes de la Rosa seeks a choreographer for its upcoming production of Kiss of the Spiderwoman. Qualified candidates will have strong background in choreographing and enjoy working as part of a combination professional and training environment. We are seeking artists who possess imagination, flexibility and the desire to in a creatively charged and artistically demanding, yet nurturing environment. Applicants must be prepared to work as a member of a strong creative team, and to work quickly towards the end goal, while still giving focus to the artistic process. The ideal candidate can teach a variety of dance styles. Applicants must demonstrate experience teaching a wide range of abilities.

Costume Designer/ Cutter Draper
Responsibilities:

To serve as one of costume designers for either Kiss of the Spiderwoman or Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. The ideal candidate will have experience (either educational or professional), outstanding collaboration and communication skills, and a pleasant work ethic. Applicants must display leadership qualities, excellent interpersonal skills and posses the ability to troubleshoot complex problems. The ideal candidate must demonstrate experience working within a wide range of budgets and staffing resources. A degree in theatre is a plus; however, comparable experience will be considered. The candidate must be a team player and have a positive and professional attitude. The obligations of the Designer include attendance of Production Meetings & 1^st Rehearsal, supplying the Theatre with conceptual drawings and ideas by equally agreed upon dates; supplying the Theatre with a fully-executed costume design, including colored renderings, costume list, labeled swatch cards, and costume plot (if needed), by equally agreed upon dates. The ideal candidate must demonstrate experience working within a wide range of budgets and staffing resources.

Stitcher/Wardrobe
Responsibilities:
To serve as a Stitcher/wardrobe on one of the four theatre productions for the season. Responsible for stitching, sewing and all other necessary and appropriate costuming duties to fulfill the needs of the production; and will serve as Wardrobe Head during the productions.

Costume Intern/Wardrobe

Responsibilities:
To serve as a costume intern/wardrobe in one of the four theatre productions for the season. Responsible for stitching, sewing and all other necessary and appropriate costuming duties to fulfill the needs of the production; and will serve on wardrobe crew during the productions.

Lighting Designer/Master Electrician

Responsibilities:
To serve as the designer & master electrician for either productions of Kiss of the Spiderwoman or Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. We are seeking artists who possess imagination, flexibility and the desire to work in a creatively charged and artistically demanding, yet nurturing environment. Applicants must be prepared to work within a strong creative team, and to work quickly towards the end goal, while still giving focus to the artistic process. The ideal candidate must demonstrate experience working within a wide range of budgets and staffing resources.

Lighting Intern

Responsibilities:
To serve lighting intern for one or more of the 4 theatre productions this season. Will assist in the implementation of the light design; will assist in the installation and maintenance of all lighting equipment; and will serve as Light Board operator on production.  

Properties Artisan & Designer

Responsibilities:
Will work closely with the director of one of the four theatre productions, working within the parameters of the budget and production schedule; will organize and maintain the properties budget, build and deadline schedule; responsible for the construction of all scenic and hand properties; will assist in the acquisition of all properties for the production and crew.

Scenic Artist (or Intern)
Responsibilities:
To serve as scenic artist for either Cat on a Hot Tin Roof or Kiss of the Spiderwoman. Responsible for the painting of all scenic elements and maintaining the parameters of the scenic budget and production schedule; will work closely with the Scenic Designer and Technical Director in all scenic painting projects.

Carpenter
Responsibilities:
To serve as one of two scenic carpenters for a either Cat on a Hot Tin Roof or Kiss of the Spiderwoman. Will assist in the building of all sets and scenic elements for the production; and will serve on running crews if needed.
